Hocus Pocus Witches’ Brew
This magical, color-changing, bubbling beverage will amaze your Halloween guests! The drink looks artificial but is actually very natural. Dry ice can create a ‘bewitching effect’!
INGREDIENTS:
- Butterfly pea flower powder 2 tsp
- 1 tbsp of simple syrup
- Half a teaspoon of edible glitter
- Sparkling water 2 cups
- Lemon juice, two tablespoons
- Ice cubes
- Dry ice
- INSTRUCTIONS:
-
- Combine the butterfly pea powder, sugar, glitter, and sparkling water in a cocktail shaker or bottle. Could you give it a good shake?
- Pour the butterfly pea mixture into glasses after filling them with ice.
- Slowly add lemon juice, and watch as your cocktail turns from a vibrant blue to a deep violet!
- To get the spooky effect, add a small piece of dry ice. (Be careful and read notes.)
- While the dry ice bubbles, serve immediately. Your guests can now take fun pictures and videos.
- Dry ice is carbon dioxide in a solid form. It turns into gas as it melts, creating the smoking effect. Dry ice can be used in drinks as long as it is not swallowed and tongs are used when handling. In about five minutes, a 1-inch piece will sink to the bottom and disappear. If you want to be safe, wait until all dry ice has disappeared from the glass before drinking.
